Among the designs represented in this cheerful motif we can see the flowers of the four seasons (shiki no hana) such as peonies, cherry blossoms, irises, camellias, maple leaves finely intertwined with the “ryusui” (flowing water) motif. If we look closely, we can also see some butterflies, a symbol of good omen.
